Caistor’s heritage had remained undiscovered for many years and the Centre has provided the opportunity to tell the story about Caistor with displays, objects, recordings and its archive of images and documents.

Caistories

Help us create a permanent record for future generations.

The Caistories project was possible through a Heritage Lottery Grant, this enabled us to run workshops, talks, training and events for the local community and our schools. We also were able to purchase equipment which we can use in the future for similar social history projects.

This short video aims to encourage you to get involved with 'Caistories'. A year long multi media project looking at the lives and times of the Lincolnshire town of Caistor over the last hundred years. If you live in or around Caistor, this is your chance to tell yours or another's story from the past and learn new skills such as filming, recording and interviewing. Making of Caistories

The training day delivered by the University of Lincoln on 9th May 2013. This included advice on gathering stories, interview protocols, techniques and ice breakers. Production including film making, editing and technical advice on the use of the video equipment and lighting.

Caistor Primary School

School children  from Caistor Primary School and centre volunteers  took part in training to give them the skills to interview and use audio and video equipment, as well as understanding the importance of capturing memories for future generations. Below you will find the biographies of a few Caistor residents prepared by the children after grilling them at an interview session.
