Lamorna Thomas joins us for 'Wool in the Wolds'
Lamorna Thomas, from Felted by Lamorna, will be joining us for an exhibition of her work from Friday 19th September – Sunday 16th November 2025. You are also invited to join us to meet the artist and preview the exhibition on Thursday 18th September 2025 6-8pm.
Lamorna used to work as a Garden Designer in South Cambridgeshire, but she has now retired to create her own third of an acre garden near Market Rasen.
Lamorna took up wet felting wool about ten years ago to expand her artistic flair into a different medium and is a member of the not-for-profit International Feltmakers Association. This was established to promote felt in all its forms.
Lamorna’s handmade fibre works include practical and artistic felted pieces for the home, to complement interiors, that are both beautiful and functional.
She meticulously researches the design process for each crafted item, keeping sketchbooks, and draws on the natural world and other artists for inspiration. Having quickly mastered flat, corded and 'Nuno' felting techniques using Merino wool and British breeds of wool, she moved onto resist projects to produce useful and creative 3D items, incorporating various upcycled fabrics, such as sari silks, organic materials, like nettle fibre and fern fronds. Lamorna’s passion is to teach people the wonderful craft of wet felting and holds many workshops, both locally, and at some of the Wool Shows put on up and down the country.
Lamorna will be hosting workshops on Saturday 27th September, Wednesday 1st October, Saturday 18th October, Wednesday 5th November & Saturday 15th November.
